Introduction
As provided under the City-Owned Properties website (please click here), the City has taken ownership to two (2) properties through the tax-sale process in the Fall of 2022. The City has commenced its disposition process of those two properties on Monday, July 28, 2023.
In the disposition of City-owned properties, the City is looking for applicants who are going to invest in the properties by elevating the quality of the structure and returning the building to a state where it will be a positive contributor to their respected neighborhood.
The City anticipates the application process to be competitive, and therefore, only complete and thorough applications will be considered. Applications that fail to provide details, where appropriate, about the proposed project will likely be rejected, and may be afforded the opportunity to be supplemented. One sentence, generic answers stating and/or describing the intended proposal are not acceptable; therefore, applicants should thoroughly summarize the work they are intending to perform.
Not, the City-Owned Properties Program is not a “highest-bid-auction” and all offers will be given full consideration. Once the application deadline passes, and should the City and RRA pass on retaining the property, the City-Owned Properties Committee may convene and select applicants they wish to hear a presentation from about their proposed project. After the presentations for each property concludes, the Committee will recommend a sale of the property to the Board of Aldermen for final approval. For clarification purposes, the City has the discretion to hear
